A 2012 Ohio Legal Assistance Foundation report on the positive economic impact legal aid has in Ohio described how legal aid saves communities money by helping victims of domestic violence stay out of shelters, avoid absenteeism at work and keep kids safe and in school.

A new report by the Institute for Policy Integrity confirms the conclusions in the Foundation report, finding that providing free or low cost legal representation to victims of domestic violence saves money as well as lives.
