The Legal Aid Society of Cleveland has received an award of nearly $15,000 in cy pres funds from a class action suit in Lorain County, which is served by Cleveland Legal Aid. Cy pres, A French phrase meaning “as near as possible,” denotes funds remaining in a class action suit after payment to all individual members of a class who are located and who file a claim for payment. When funds remain, the court hearing the case may distribute the remaining funds to organizations that further the purpose of the class action suit. To read more, click here.
