Attiyya Toure is the Foundation’s new Communications and Special Projects Associate. Attiyya is a recent graduate of The Ohio State University with a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism. A talented communicator, she has held internships with WOSU’s All Sides with Ann Fisher and the Peace Corps.
Q: What do you like to do in your free time?
I like to do a good variety of things like singing, writing, watching Netflix, going for walks, or just having a good time with my friends. Before the pandemic, I also loved to travel around with my family.
Q: What’s your go-to karaoke song?
I don’t have a go-to song since I love so many, but one that comes to mind right now is “Killing Me Softly” by The Fugees. A classic karaoke tune.
Q: What superpower would you like to have?
I think super speed would be pretty cool. Then I could zoom all around the world and get to places in no time.
Q: What’s one thing most people don’t know about you?
Most people probably don’t know about my hidden talent of impersonations. If I hear someone talk even a little bit, I’m pretty good at mimicking their tones, inflections, even little gestures they do. It can be really amusing.
Q: What’s the best advice you’ve received?
Always do your best. It may sound cliché but committing to doing my best in everything I do definitely gives me the most satisfaction in life.
Q: Anything else you want to add?
I’m very excited about this opportunity to work with the Foundation and learn more about the impact of legal aid throughout the state of Ohio. It’s always been a goal of mine to center my career around justice-related causes and I think being here with the Foundation is very fitting.
