The Ohio Access to Justice Foundation is pleased to host Legal Aid Day 2025 at the Ohio Statehouse on May 13.
Since the first Legal Aid Day in 2013, legal aid and the Foundation have strengthened relationships with Ohio legislators, garnering support for legal aid’s life-changing work to increase safety, stability, and financial security for low-income Ohioans.
“Legal Aid Day has proven to be an incredible opportunity for legal aid board members and staff to come to Columbus and share the critically important work legal aid does to help low-income Ohioans overcome legal challenges,” said Foundation Executive Director Angie Lloyd.
Also on May 13, Foundation leaders will join the Ohio State Bar Association to celebrate excellence in the legal profession. At the Ohio Bar’s annual meeting, the Foundation will present three awards: the Presidential Award, the Voice of Justice Award, and the John C. and Ginny Elam Pro Bono Award. The Foundation recently took over stewardship of the Elam Award, a recognition that honors an attorney who selflessly donates their time and talent to pro bono causes and the community.
“The Foundation is honored to begin managing and bestowing the John C. and Ginny Elam Pro Bono Award,” Lloyd said. “It is a privilege to carry forward the Elam Award’s rich history of recognizing outstanding pro bono work in Ohio.”
