The Ohio Access to Justice Foundation (“Foundation”) is seeking a rising 2L or 3L to fill a 2025 summer clerkship position.
The Foundation is a statewide, nonprofit organization committed to improving access to justice in Ohio. The foundation is the largest single funder of legal aid organizations in Ohio and convenes partners to promote access to justice throughout the state. Position Summary: The law clerk will assist the Foundation’s attorney staff members with various projects, including, but not limited to, research and writing on issues related to the Foundation’s work which could include legal research on Interest on Lawyer’s Trust Accounts (IOLTA), ethics, the provision of legal services, banking compliance, or housing development. Additionally, the law clerk will assist attorneys in pro bono cases. The law clerk may also assist with the activities with and cases from the Ohio Justice Bus, or other tasks as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Commitment to access to justice.
- Completion of at least 1 year of law school;
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills;
- Excellent problem-solving, legal research and writing, and communication skills;
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office;
Compensation and Term of Position: Compensation will be hourly at $20.00/hour. The duration of the position will be 8 – 12 weeks, start date to be determined at the time of offer.
