Columbus, Ohio (October 8, 2013) Ohio Legal Aid helps kids be successful in school and veterans to obtain benefits they have earned, Ohio legislators learned today.
Delegations from each of the state’s Legal Aids today visited representatives and senators at their Statehouse offices in Columbus to educate the legislators on how Legal Aids impact their communities and help constituents with critical legal problems.
“Ohio’s Legal Aids work hard every day to help ensure that the promise of justice for all applies to everyone, regardless of income,”said Angela M. Lloyd, executive director for the Ohio Legal Assistance Foundation, which provides funding and other support for Legal Aids.
Supreme Court of Ohio Chief Justice Maureen O”Connor echoed those sentiments in remarks during a reception for legislators and legal aid personnel held this evening in the Statehouse.
“Increasing access to justice should be an ever present goal in any state’s judicial and legal system. But that goal cannot and will not be achieved without the involvement of legal aid,” she said.
